Webinar replay: SiteHive Weather – Hyperlocal Weather & Intelligent Forecasting

45% of construction projects are delayed by weather – costing millions of dollars in expenses and lost revenue. Yet many project teams have to rely on weather information collected kilometres away from the worksite, and disconnected from their environmental data.

Every environmental event raises the same questions. What caused it? Was it construction? Does anyone need to act?

Finding those answers often means switching between systems, reviewing images, listening to recordings and manually piecing together information.

SiteHive Weather was developed to change that.

In this 30-minute webinar, SiteHive Co-founder Ben Cooper-Woolley takes you through the new SiteHive Weather product, designed for construction and infrastructure, so you can see the difference it can make on projects. Live demos show exactly what the product looks like and cover all the key features, including hyperlocal real-time data collection, contextual images and Direction-of-Arrival mapping, forecast rain alerts, interactive weather maps, intelligent forecasting, reporting and more.

You’ll see how using SiteHive Weather transforms the SiteHive Enviro dashboard, bringing weather info alongside all your dust, noise, vibration and water data – making reporting easier and providing a complete historical record for compliance, event investigations and claims.

  • Real-time data and forecasting together – SiteHive Weather unifies hyperlocal site actuals with intelligent forecasting in a single view. One clear picture of what’s happening now and what’s coming next, all in one place.
  • Context that explains the data – How contextual images and direction-of-arrival mapping help you understand exactly what’s happening on site, beyond just what the numbers say.
  • Hardware that’s built for site conditions – SiteHive Weather’s acoustic rain and ultrasonic wind sensors have no moving parts, so there’s no tipping bucket or spinning anemometer to clean, calibrate, or replace.
  • Integrated with your environmental data – Weather data sits alongside your noise, dust, vibration and water monitoring in the same dashboard, so you can align weather events with activity planning.

SiteHive Weather is a hyperlocal weather monitoring system that pairs an on-site SiteHive Hexanode Weather device with intuitive software inside SiteHive Enviro. It monitors wind speed and direction, rainfall volume and intensity, temperature, humidity and wet bulb temperature, combining real-time, on-site measurements — down to one-minute intervals — with intelligent near-term forecasting in a single dashboard view.

Like the rest of the SiteHive Hexanode range, the device also captures images and audio, giving teams visual and audio context for weather events, not just numbers on a graph.

The webinar’s live demo walks through the new SiteHive Weather dashboard, including:

  • Rich map layers showing forecast wind and rainfall over the next two hours, so teams can see how conditions will move across the site and any nearby sensitive receivers.
  • A weather summary panel with live wind speed, rainfall, temperature and humidity, plus severe weather warnings such as frost alerts.
  • Hyperlocal, adjustable-interval graphs — from one-minute readings up to three-hour periods — showing both actuals so far today and the forecast for the rest of the day.
  • Rainfall intensity tracking, including 15-minute and hourly peak intensity, alongside a cumulative rainfall “run-rate” tracker similar to SiteHive’s existing dust graph.
  • Rules and notifications for rainfall, wind speed and wet bulb temperature, configurable to any threshold and time period, integrated with SiteHive Enviro Pro’s attended-monitoring workflow for surface water and discharge permits.
  • PDF and CSV reporting, so weather data can be documented and shared without manually reconciling Bureau of Meteorology downloads against site records.
  • Full mobile access, giving site teams the same weather insights and map layers from anywhere, using their phone’s GPS.

Integration is a key component of SiteHive Weather. The video demonstrates how weather data now sits alongside dust monitoring, with weather-affected periods highlighted directly on dust graphs. Using the direction-of-arrival mapping, teams can correlate wind speed and direction with dust readings to understand exactly where dust has come from in any given period — helping to confirm or rule out the site as the source. Readings are now backed by evidence rather than guesswork, allowing teams to manage stakeholders with confidence.

Weather events can also trigger the same image and audio media capture used across SiteHive’s noise and dust devices, so teams get visual confirmation of site conditions without relying solely on noise-triggered media.

The SiteHive Hexanode Weather device uses the same instrument type as Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) stations, but replaces fragile mechanical components with solid-state sensors: ultrasonic wind sensors with no moving parts, and an acoustic rain sensor that measures rainfall using microphones rather than a mechanical tipping bucket.

Temperature, humidity and wet bulb temperature are measured internally. Like other Hexanode devices, it offers plug-and-play deployment with roaming 4G and Wi-Fi, delivering live data immediately. It can also be paired with SiteHive’s Dust module for combined weather and dust monitoring in a single, mobile unit: SiteHive Hexanode Weather+Dust.

SiteHive Weather is built for construction and infrastructure teams who need reliable, site-specific weather data to plan work, protect workers and maintain compliance. It’s particularly good on large or geographically spread projects, and sites in dense urban environments without a nearby weather station.

SiteHive weather is available now for construction and infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand.
