New SiteHive Weather solution combines hyperlocal weather monitoring with environmental monitoring to help construction teams improve productivity, safety and compliance.
SiteHive has announced the launch of SiteHive Weather, a new weather monitoring solution that brings hyperlocal weather data and intelligent forecasting together with environmental monitoring in a single, cloud-based platform.
The solution is designed specifically for construction and infrastructure projects, including site managers who are planning and managing daily activities and environmental managers managing environmental monitoring.
Available in Australia and New Zealand from 15 July 2026, SiteHive Weather gives project teams real-time visibility of weather conditions alongside noise, dust, vibration and water monitoring, enabling faster operational decisions, improved worker safety and stronger environmental compliance.
Nearly half of construction projects are delayed by weather
The launch addresses one of the construction industry’s ongoing challenges. Almost half (45%*) of construction projects globally experience weather-related delays, leading to significant costs, schedule impacts and lost productivity. Despite this, many projects continue to rely on weather information collected kilometres away from the actual worksite.
By integrating live weather intelligence directly into the SiteHive Enviro platform, SiteHive provides construction managers, environmental teams, site managers and consultants with a single operational dashboard to monitor changing site conditions and respond more effectively.
“Construction teams make critical operational decisions every day, yet many are relying on weather information that doesn’t accurately reflect conditions on site,” said Ben Cooper-Woolley, Co-founder of SiteHive.
“By combining hyperlocal weather monitoring with environmental intelligence in one platform, we’re giving project teams the real-time information they need around productivity, safety and compliance.”
Built for construction and infrastructure projects
SiteHive Weather is designed for rapid deployment, removing the complexity of traditional weather stations. It pairs an easy-to-deploy SiteHive Hexanode Weather monitoring device with the SiteHive Enviro platform, delivering:
- Hyperlocal real-time weather monitoring
- Intelligent weather forecasting integrated with live environmental monitoring
- Automated alerts for rainfall, wind speed and wet bulb temperature (WBT)
- Comprehensive reporting, including PDF reports and CSV exports
- Historical weather records for compliance reporting, incident investigations and project claims
- Automated image generation every 15 minutes to provide visual confirmation of site conditions.

The monitoring hardware replaces traditional analogue instruments (such as tipping bucket rain gauges and spinning anemometers) with ultrasonic wind and acoustic rain sensors that contain no moving parts to clean or calibrate, reducing maintenance while improving reliability. It is available as a standalone device or paired with dust.
While the cloud-based SiteHive Enviro platform brings everything together in a single system, removing the need to access weather information and forecasts from multiple disconnected systems.
Proven during major infrastructure projects
SiteHive Weather was tested during Melbourne’s Suburban Rail Loop East project, where it helped environmental teams better anticipate changing weather conditions and prepare site controls.
Adam Jones, Senior Environmental Advisor at Acciona, said the platform had already demonstrated practical benefits during beta testing.
“SiteHive Weather has been an incredibly useful tool in forecasting rain and adverse weather events, helping us protect the site and ensure appropriate environmental controls are in place.”
Daniel Shutt, Environmental Advisor at Gamuda, on the Sydney Metro West project, said integrating weather monitoring with environmental data had simplified day-to-day site management.
“Having accurate, real-time weather alongside our environmental monitoring helps the team prepare for environmental risks, support planning for high-risk activities and minimise site costs incurred through weather related setbacks.”
Reliable accuracy
John Holland’s Environmental Advisor, Monique Pitcorn-Van Haarlem, said SiteHive Weather had proven highly accurate in measuring site conditions.
“We have had an extremely positive experience with SiteHive Weather and have a high level of confidence in its accuracy and reliability, particularly for rainfall, humidity and wet bulb measurements.”
One platform for weather and environmental intelligence
Rather than requiring project teams to manage separate weather systems and environmental monitoring platforms, SiteHive Weather consolidates both into a single source of operational intelligence.
This integrated approach provides immediate access to current and historical weather information alongside environmental monitoring data, helping organisations streamline compliance reporting, support investigations and improve project decision-making.
“Construction teams don’t need more systems. They need a complete picture of what’s happening on site,” said Cooper-Woolley.
“By bringing weather, environmental monitoring and operational intelligence into a single platform, we’re helping project teams respond faster, reduce disruption, strengthen compliance and make better decisions every day.”
SiteHive Weather now available
SiteHive Weather is available from 15 July 2026 for construction, infrastructure and industrial projects across Australia and New Zealand.
Project teams looking to improve weather monitoring, environmental compliance and operational visibility can now combine hyperlocal weather intelligence with SiteHive’s environmental monitoring platform through a single connected solution.
There are two SiteHive Weather products available:
- SiteHive Weather – monitors all core weather aspects
- SiteHive Weather+Dust – monitors all core weather aspects plus innovative dust monitoring in a single device.
