Environmental monitoring produces thousands of data points every day. But numbers alone don’t tell you what happened, whether it matters, or what action to take.
In this webinar product expert, Michael Darroch, explores how contextual insights help bridge that gap. Through real project examples and live demonstrations, you’ll find out how SiteHive combines environmental data with contextual insights (including images, audio, direction of arrival maps, weather information and more) to help teams understand exceedances faster and make quick, confident decisions.
Whether you’re already using SiteHive or exploring real-time environmental monitoring for the first time, this session shows how better context can help reduce investigation time, simplify reporting and keep projects moving.
What you’ll see
- AI enabled noise and vibration classification
- Images and audio alongside monitoring data
- Integrated maps, weather and site context
- Faster environmental investigations
Why context matters
Every environmental event raises the same questions. What caused it? Was it construction? Does anyone need to act?
Finding those answers often means switching between systems, reviewing images, listening to recordings and manually piecing together information.
The webinar opens by looking at this challenge and explains why SiteHive has focused on providing contextual insights alongside real-time environmental measurements – including noise, dust and vibration. Not simply recording data, but helping teams actually understand it.
AI noise and vibration classification
Through a real-world example, Michael shows how SiteHive’s AI Classifier helps reduce the amount of manual investigation required after an exceedance. It automatically identifies both noise and vibration events, helping users quickly distinguish between construction activity and unrelated events. Instead of reviewing every recording manually, teams can immediately focus on the events most likely to require action.
He also demonstrates how the AI Classifier works alongside images and audio, providing multiple sources of evidence for every investigation.
A complete visual timeline
Environmental data becomes much easier to interpret when you can see exactly what’s happening. Michael demonstrates SiteHive’s enhanced media capture, which now captures images and audio from the loudest noise event within each monitoring period. The result is a complete visual timeline of site activity, helping teams quickly understand what happened at any point in the day.
The webinar also introduces media capture for dust monitoring, with images taken in both directions to show where dust has come from and where it may be travelling.
Direction of Arrival (DOA)
Michael demonstrates SiteHive’s Direction of Arrival (DOA) mapping for both noise and dust, showing how it helps teams quickly determine whether an event originated from their site or another source. Rather than spending hours investigating an exceedance, teams can often rule out their own works at a glance and focus their attention where it’s needed.
Daily notes
Michael also demonstrates how teams can use Daily Notes in SiteHive Enviro to record site activities, observations and mitigation measures alongside their environmental monitoring data. By keeping project records and environmental data together in one place, SiteHive Enviro makes it easier to investigate events, explain exceedances and create clear, evidence-backed reports for clients, regulators and other stakeholders.
Complete site intelligence
Michael also gives a live demonstration of SiteHive’s third-party integrations. Including KML map layers, Timescapes, Propeller Aero and Nearmap integrations. Allowing project teams to compare environmental monitoring data with site boundaries, drone imagery, timelapse photography and other project information without moving between different systems.
Weather context
The webinar also shows how SiteHive uses weather data to identify weather-affected periods and provide additional context for environmental monitoring.
Michael concludes with a preview of SiteHive Weather – SiteHive’s new hyperlocal weather monitoring solution. By combining live on-site measurements, intelligent forecasting and environmental monitoring in a single platform, SiteHive Weather helps project teams have even more context to plan work effectively, minimise weather-related delays, protect workers and improve compliance.
Making confident decisions
By combining environmental monitoring with rich contextual insights, SiteHive helps teams understand what happened, determine whether action is required or not and support those decisions with clear evidence. That means:
- Teams can be more productive
- Projects can save on costs
- Projects can keep moving
- Communities are less impacted
